Deluxe Review: "Culture III (Deluxe)" by Migos

Today (June 17), rap group Migos dropped off the deluxe edition to their long-awaited fourth studio album, Culture III. The deluxe includes five new tracks with no features, changing the tracklist from 19 to 24 tracks. Will this new edition have something new to bring to the table, or is it unnecessary bloating of a good album? Let's find out.

1. How We Coming

I really like the beat on this track, and the three Migos work well over it. Quavo is consistent with yet another catchy hook, and Takeoff and Offset deliver hard verses. This is a banger for sure, and I can see this becoming a big song in the future. I'm giving this track a 7/10.

2. How Did I

This beat is immaculate, to start off. The hook is also great, and although it may be a bit long, this track as a whole is fire. I didn't expect a 4-minute long track like this to actually hit the spot, but I'm putting this on a playlist as soon as I finish this review. This track gets an 8/10 from me.

3. New Money

I really wanted to enjoy this track, but the hook is far too repetitive and the track's runtime is far too long. All three Migos had pretty generic bars, and I can't find anything that sticks out about this track. I'm giving it a 6/10.

4. Menace

This track is much shorter than the previous songs, which is why it's a good song as well. I enjoyed the way the three Migos flowed over the beat, and the beat is also very good. I don't have much else to say about this track, but it's very good, and I will be revisiting it quite a bit. I give this track a 7.5/10.

5. Working A Fool

I like the beat on this song, and the hook and verses are great, even if the runtime is overly long and another verse could've been squeezed in at the end. However, this was a good way to end off the deluxe edition. I give this track a 7/10.

FINAL RATING: 7.1/10

BEST TRACK: How Did I

WORST TRACK: New Money

SUMMARY:

It may have no features, which is disappointing, but the deluxe edition of Culture III surprisingly does add something to the original: more hard-hitting tracks, courtesy of the wise production choices and the hooks, along with the fire verses on every track. The deluxe is not what most fans are looking for, but I think people who enjoy the Migos will enjoy this edition.
