Track Review: "734" and "Lucid Dreams (Remix)" by Juice WRLD

Today, Juice WRLD's label re-issued his debut album Goodbye & Good Riddance with two new tracks. The first one is "734," a new solo track, and the other is the official remix to "Lucid Dreams," Juice's mainstream breakout hit. The remix includes a new feature from Lil Uzi Vert. Do these tracks add something to the album, or are they merely a cash grab by Juice's estate?

1. 734

This track has a good instrumental and a pretty catchy hook, which could make it another posthumous hit for Juice. It's really nothing too special, but it's a decent song that I can vibe to whenever. I'll give this track a 7.5/10.

2. Lucid Dreams [Remix] (ft. Lil Uzi Vert)

I liked the original track, and although Uzi does a good job on here, I feel like his verse was too out of place on a track like this. I could see him fitting into something like a remix of "All Girls are the Same" or "Armed and Dangerous," but this remix was not a good fit for him. I give this track a 6.5/10, because I'm probably not going to be revisiting it in the future.

TWO TRACK AVERAGE: 7/10

CONCLUSION:

I guess these tracks are okay to listen to if you want to just chill, but they really added nothing to the album. Along with removing "Armed and Dangerous," the bonus additions feel like a poor move overall, and it would have been better to release these tracks as singles or even just leave then unreleased. I'm still anticipating the upcoming second posthumous Juice album, which will surely have more memory value than these bonus tracks.
