Tyga recently released his new single last week, titled "Vacation", and it is performing well... on Spotify, that is. Tyga has been accused of buying and faking Spotify streams for that single, and the following info supports that claim.
On June 25, 2020, YouTuber yadiiiigg uploaded a video accusing Tyga of buying streams. In the video, he brings up some pretty sketchy numbers from Spotify and Apple Music. The track was performing well on Spotify, yet was not in the top 1500 songs on Apple Music and iTunes. There were also Twitter posts of people claiming their Spotify account was hacked and started playing Vacation by Tyga.
This situation is very similar to something that happened six months ago, with French Montana being accused of buying streams for his single, "Writing on the Wall."
All in all, it is a very messy situation. What are your thoughts about this? Comment down below.
