I don't remember the last time I watched this movie, but I think I remember it being a good film. When I re-watched it today, it's still a decent film, but it was disappointing. Actually, pretty disappointing.

The animation in this film is pretty good. Any scene involving food weather is eye candy, and the whole thing is nice to stare at. There are also a few funny moments (and some dark jokes involving serious medical emergencies), and the premise of the movie is clever. But there are some problems.
First off, the film only loosely adapts its source material, a book of the same name. It changes the setting, the characters, and basically the entire idea of the original book. I'm not saying this is bad, but the film should've been a little more faithful for people who came into this expecting it to be like the book.
The film also has no shortage of cheesy moments. From awkward conversations to overly sentimental speeches that should be motivational, the only emotional moment is when Flint, the main character of the film, is presumed dead. Other than that, the writers of this film could've brainstormed better stuff than the run-of-the-mill ideas shown on screen.
There's possibilities of creativity, and the animation is wonderful, but Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs more often than not has dark skies looming over the message it keeps trying to push.
RATING: 6.5/10
