Review: Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)

I've been waiting a while to see this movie, and since it has finally come out, I could watch out. Only two words: monster movie. Yes, this sure is a monster movie.

I've gotta say that I like how this film doesn't focus too much on the human characters' own little stories, although it worked in the 2014 Godzilla film. We get to see more of Kong and Zilla smashing creatures and swatting away evil humans. This is probably the best part of the film in general.

That isn't to say that the human characters aren't interesting, either. We have a variety of them: a deaf girl who can communicate with Kong, a widowed man who runs a podcast, a teenage girl who follows the podcast, and many others. Keep in note that I haven't watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters yet, so I'm still in the dark on a few things.

Oh, and these visual effects are top-notch. Every little detail is added in to make it just perfect, and the battle scenes with Kong, Godzilla, and others (I'm not gonna spoil those), they are just great. I really like how the whole movie played out.

With little human subplots but a handful of eye-popping action, Godzilla vs. Kong is the definitive monster movie.

RATING: 8/10
