This is the first movie in the DC Animated Movie Universe. And after watching this, I'm itching to see the next installment. And the next. And the next. You get the point.

So, basically, the main plot of the film revolves around the Flash, or Barry Allen. He prevents his mother from dying out of his own selfishness, and he ends up altering a lot of history in the process. So now Bruce Wayne is dead, Superman is a government lab rat, Green Lantern is a pilot for the military, and so on. It might be a bit confusing at first, but you'll definitely understand it quickly.
The animation is superb, but that's not the highlight of this film. The best part is the gritty and dark tone. The altered Earth is a literal warzone, people are getting stabbed in their chests fighting against each other, and there is a lot of blood. Like, a LOT. And that's what I like about this film. It doesn't try to shy away from a bit of excessive gore, making this a worthy entry into the DC animated film catalog.
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox takes multiple risks in terms of violence, but, along with a complex story, this film solidifies itself as one of the more mature features from DC in recent years.
RATING: 8/10
