Review: "We Can Be Heroes"

Reading class was great today, and you know why? Because we got to watch a movie. And then I found out what movie, and I thought it wouldn't be that good. Actually, it was surprisingly enjoyable.

Yes, the VFX may be a step-down or two from other films these days, but it wholly resembles director Robert Rodriguez's special effects style for his family films, like Spy Kids. The film itself is also better than the film that it's a sequel to, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, which was, to say the least, less than great.

The young performers also strongly help the film out, with their charisma and funny punchlines. They all do a good job, especially the kid who plays Wheels. The adult performances are good, too, but not as good as the kids.

All in all, We Can Be Heroes is a funny film that satires the superhero film genre and features great kid performers.

RATING: 7/10
