This Rotten Week: Predicting "Yes Day" and "Long Weekend" Reviews

I've skipped a few of these, so I might as well get back on the train and do another one. This week I'm predicting the scores for the Netflix family comedy Yes Day and the Stage 6-romantic drama Long Weekend. So let's take a look, shall we?

YES DAY PREDICTION: 60%

This comedy picked up by Netflix is directed by Miguel Arteta, who's film reception has noticeably declined, especially with last year's Like a Boss, a massive box office bomb that scored a low 22% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, when it comes to family comedies, he only has one. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (which starred Jennifer Garner, like this film), was a decent financial success and scored a generally mixed 61% on RT, which means this film will likely end up in the 60-65% range, or possibly the 55-59% range.

LONG WEEKEND PREDICTION: 83%

This is a pretty little-known romantic comedy-drama if you look at the grand scale of things. It's getting a release from Stage 6 Films, a Sony company that is best known for the Insidious franchise and has been building up their popularity in recent years with the releases of films such as Searching, Brightburn, and Greyhound. From the looks of it, this film looks like an interesting indie flick that critics will probably love, and the director of this film (in his directorial debut) has an impressive resume built up of writing for shows such as Community and The Michael J. Fox Show.

Well, maybe I'll do another one of these in the next two to three weeks, but for now, that's all.
